Father: James BARBER    married  Lucy Maria MEAKER(dob: 1860) in 1895 district of Langton.
Believe Father died young ~ 35, a stone mason in Somerset. Fell asleep drunk on a lime kiln. Carbon monoxide poisoning?
Records suggest DOB: 1862 DOD: 1897
Elder brother (illegitimate) James Meaker DOB: 1893 district of Langton.

Due to ill health, sever shell shock from WW1, he came around 1957 to live with William Alfred Salisbury and family at The Ark, St Florence.
He gave circa 500 GBP to William Alfred Salisbury in exchange for a home in perpetuity.
He never mentioned his brother, and was not on good terms with his brother's widow Hannah Mary Meaker.
"Uncle" Bill as he was know to us all (he was Uncle to Lucy Mary Salisbury) kept to himself, and spent all of his time working the garden.
Not efficiently, but effectively he kept the family in fruit and vegetables. George David Salisbury grew up with Uncle Bill as a surrogate guardian.
Were "Bull" went, George went.
Uncle Bill lived at the Ark until about 1969 when he was too ill for Lucy to care for, he moved in to a care home.
